Welcome! I'm so glad you found us!

My Worst Best Friend and My Worst Best Friend Does it Again are the first two in a series of books that are aimed at the struggling, older reader. Even stronger, young readers will enjoy them. They are short, everyday stories about a 10-year-old boy named Andy who is more reckless than the story's conservative narrator. There is a trick or lesson at the end of each story that rewards the reader.
These books have been put together to be placed in classrooms as well as in the home. The artwork, type and layout are designed to appeal to the 10-year-old boy. When students need to do some silent reading, these books will be a comfortable read. They use a simple vocabulary of repetitive and compound words which are more commonly found in a second-grade reading level. The books appeal to a range of students including younger readers who want books that are for older students but aren't really content appropriate. Also, most girls are willing to read stories where boys are the main characters and, won't hesitate to read these books. |
I enlisted my husband to be illustrator and graphic designer. Through a successful Kickstarter campaign we raised enough funds to publish the first two books in the series. The Kickstarter page is up and available for viewing and contains more of my reasons for self publishing the books.
